The New Jersey Opioid Recovery and Remediation Fund Advisory Council was established under S783 with the purpose of reviewing proposals, data, and analysis, and engaging with stakeholders and community members, to develop and provide recommendations on the allocation of New Jersey's share of proceeds from national opioid litigation resolutions. The New Jersey Opioid Recovery and Remediation Fund Advisory Council is holding listening sessions to gather public input on distributing opioid settlement funds. The first of these listening sessions will be held tomorrow, May 4, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. ET. Tomorrow's listening session is the first of two virtual sessions currently scheduled. Members of the public will be able to provide three minutes of testimony. New Jersey will receive at least $641 million over 18 years as part of a federal opioid settlement. The state will receive half of the funding, and the other half will be distributed among participating county and local governments.
