NJAMHAA's FY2026 Campaign, Untold Stories

In November 2024, NJAMHAA launched a new campaign, Untold Stories. For example, long waits for mental healthcare and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment have resulted in these health conditions becoming more acute and requiring more intensive, longer term treatment. In many cases, individuals never receive the clinical care and other support they need to overcome mental illnesses and SUDs and as a result, suffer from much more severe and multiple health conditions. As the demand for behavioral healthcare services has been continuing to increase since long before the pandemic, the workforce has been dwindling. Many providers who remain in the community behavioral healthcare system persevere in their dedication despite inadequate salaries— often by getting second jobs, which takes a toll on their quality of life.

NJAMHAA strongly encourages everyone to use the campaign brochure on their websites and social media pages, and in advocacy to their local legislators.
