Beginning today, September 25, 2023, any household in the U.S. can again order four free COVID-19 tests from Covidtests.gov. The reopening of Covidtests.gov was announced last week by the Biden Administration, in addition to a $600 million investment across 12 domestic COVID-19 test manufacturers to improve the nation's capacity to manufacture tests.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) indicated in a news release that the tests that will be sent out will be able to detect the currently circulating COVID-19 variants, and are intended for use through the end of 2023.
